Something new is at the Inn at Bella Vista. From giving
private cooking classes by request, your innkeeper chefs, Bill and
Beverly, are now offering a new series of two day Cooking Schools. With
years of experience in meal planning, recipe development, preparing and
cooking/baking meals for two to hundreds, they bring a clear and
different approach to cooking. Meals should be fairly simple to
prepare, easy to create a nice presentation and good to eat.
Each school is designed to give students a
hands on approach to cooking. The emphasis is on learning to be
comfortable in the kitchen while preparing dishes to wow your friends
and family without spending lots of time. Students work
directly with recipes developed by Bill and Beverly. They learn to plan
menus, stock the pantry for quick and easy meals, modify recipes and
prepare a wide variety of items. Then they get to eat what they prepare.
Schools are small so that every student has plenty
of personal attention. There is a minimum of two and a
maximum of five students per school. While schools are set for
weekends starting Friday evening with a planning session and ending
Sunday afternoon, schools can be booked during the week with at least 3
students. Two nights lodging is included in the school package
here at The Inn.
Three separate cooking programs are being offered
from November to March this year. Each one covers a wide variety
of topics and several great recipes to take home. They are:
Breakfast All Day--this class will cover a variety of
breakfast items we use here at the Inn and show how you can use many of
them for dinner as well.
Baking Breads--this class will cover breakfast and tea breads
in the morning session and a couple of different breads in the
afternoon. Dinner that evening is a soup and salad event with all
the breads baked that day to sample.
Last Minute Weekend Guests--this class will teach you how to serve a
lovely breakfast and an elegant dinner without taking a lot of time from your guests.
We will include a little help on setting a nice table with a flair.
In order to offer students the most flexible
options, the first to reserve a spot in any school chooses the
program taught in that class. So you pick the time and the
subject. Once the school has a theme, all students attending will
follow that program. So book early if you want a specific time
and topic.
